Hi. I’m Rebecca—a lifelong journaler, small business owner, devoted wife and mother of two. For years I longed for a time when I could sequester myself away and read chronologically through all my journals. 2020 was the year I was going to do it. Then 2020 happened.
More importantly, I realized the goal was misplaced. Maybe it wasn't about making sense of the whole, of taming the totality. Maybe it was about making sense of the fragments. Diving in anywhere, discovering what resonates right here in this moment right now.
I stopped thinking of journaling as an activity fixed in time, and began to view the writing as conversations across time. How liberating to celebrate a story never fully written!

Papielle is a portmanteau of two French words:

Papielle kicked off in earnest with #The100DayProject!
For 100 days, I spent time reading and reflecting, then “harvesting” a line from one of my journals to shape into a graphic. I participated in my first 100 Day project in 2021, and have joined each year since.
