First harvest
The spark for Papielle began when I had two realizations in tandem. First, that journal entries penned in another time could be relevant and resonant today. And, second, that “making sense” was not dependent upon reading in chronological order.
The 1946 Army Chest that holds my personal journals from 1997 to the present
Liberated by these twin permissions, I cracked open the thrift store chest holding a lifetime of my journals and started reading.
I gave myself the following guidelines:
— Dive in anywhere—
Follow your curiosity, not the clock. What are you drawn to in this moment?
—Harvest insights—
What words speak to you now?
—Make, remake, experiment, share—
Share my discoveries.
Much of that sharing is via instagram.
